  • So excited to see how far you guys have come over the last couple of years. You have unknowingly helped me drastically change my life as well. Last year I left my office manager job and began coaching full-time. It took a leap of faith, but every week you guys were so positive and encouraging. You guys rock, keep up the great work.

  • Great to see you guys back again and look forward to learning more with you.
Excited to see and hear the new team together and what’s in store.

  • I was impressed with the pace you guys have maintained and can understand hitting the pause button. In my gym, all good decisions gain respect.
Looking forward to the next 200 with you!

  • Barbell Shrugged Rocks, and long may it continue, can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings. 199 episodes of great content have inspired, entertained and educated me alongside plenty of laughs. Relaxing into a new episode every week has been a Sunday morning ritual for me for the last 2 years.

  • Can’t wait to see what’s next in your future episodes, since watching your shows I have been inspired to push my fitness goals further than ever before. Thanks for all you guys do! Keep on educating all of us fitness junkies!

  • You guys are awesome and I am such a big fan! I am glad that ya’ll realized you needed to rest and regroup and I have every expectation that the next iteration of the show and your projects are going to be equally engaging and informative! Can’t wait!

  • Seriously can not wait to see what you have in store for us , whatever it is I know will be awesome and worth the wait!

  • HOLY CRAP!!! I can’t wait for this awesome new show you guys and gal are planning. I’ve missed the weekly knowledge bombs, motivation, and laughs… Thanks for all the hard work BBS TEAM!

  • Super super stoked for you guys. Like thousands of others I’m drooling with anticipation and excitement to see where you’re taking us. You are my personal guide through the BS and a storm of inspiration. Can’t wait! You guys stay legendary!

  • Have to say I didn’t realize what an impact Barbell Shrugged had until it “paused.” I’m excited that someone will soon hit the play button. You guys make athletes and coaches better.

  • Legends, one and all at Barbell Shrugged!
I’m so glad you’ll be returning, been missing your shows – the content, the guests and the banter.
    Keep up the good work.

  • Great to have you back! However since I’m sure not everyone has the opportunity, I know I didn’t really have the time, maybe the guys should explain who they are and they’re background a little? The podcast while great was kind of vague as to the type of training that each guy does.

    • Paul, it’s a weekly show. You GET to know the guys….that’s the fun. If we try to say it all upfront, you won’t care really. When you discover something slowly, you also discover much in yourself. Be patient with us and you’ll see why we’re doing this all in a very specific way.

  • Cant wait to see what you have for us! I’ve been a fan and following along since the beginning. You have been a huge inspiration; to better ourselves in and out of the gym and to open our minds to different perspectives. Cant wait to see what you have up your sleeves… super pumped!

  • Glad you guys are back. Other Podcasts suck. Already listened to a few episodes. Good stuff. Thanks for the training advice and giving me something to listen to on the road. Welcome back.

  • Hey Barbell Shrugged folks,
Huge fan of the podcast and I truly appreciate your hard work in maintaining the quality, professionalism, and accurate explanations of current trends and topics in exercise science. It was interesting to hear new voices on BBS to say the least. Though I am happy to hear that the original crew have moved on to bigger and better things. I am honestly not satisfied with the current content. The new faces of the podcast are experienced in the gym but not in their education. The podcast now feels dumbed down. I remember an episode a few weeks ago where the new team didn’t know what EPOC was…..if you have taken a basic exercise physiology course should be familiar with EPOC. I don’t think betrayed is an accurate word to use here but I do feel a bit disappointed especially since I have told many many people including leading exercise scientist in the field about the value of the BBS podcast. The current content does allow more of a “broy” atmosphere which may resonate with some listeners but not the ones to enjoyed the ‘broy’ and in-depth (accurate) science talk. I wish the OG team the best with all future endeavors.

    • I totally agree with Brian. I listened to almost every podcast from the original crew.. but I just can’t get through the new episodes. No doubt, the new podcast crew knows their stuff and are very talented weightlifters, but it just sounds like an episode of Beavis & Butthead when they’re all together. I know that’s pretty harsh, but it’s really difficult to get through all the nonsense and constant laughing at each other’s ‘jokes.’ The organization and flow seem to be lacking.. “Okay, let’s see what our next bullet point is…” I don’t know, I’m sure they’ll get better in time, but I have to take a break for a while. Maybe these particular guys just don’t mesh well together? Also, that new intro with the “buying your grandmaw a new shirt” is awful. AWFUL. I hate bashing on barbellshrugged as I’ve learned SO Much over the years, but just thought you guys might need some honest feedback. Best of luck in the future.. all you guys have tons of talent.. just need to put the right guys in the right spots.

  • i have listend to nearly every single podcast you guys have ever done and i didn’t know about you till about 1.5 years ago. i always play the podcast when i get up at 5:15am to get motivated to take my morning Military PT class, you have increased my knowledge and understanding of not only physical training but life too. keep up the good work, you have made an impact on not only my life as an athlete and coach but as a person too.
    Respect..
